Gedeon Baende, Mark Jones, and Dr. Troy Williams graduated from the University of San Diego, each on different paths but bound by a common thread: Black mentors who shaped who they became.
Gedeon, a tech specialist, was shown the unwritten rules and reminded he belonged in rooms where he was often the only one. Mark, an entrepreneur and advocate, was taught that business success means nothing without community impact. Troy, a mental health professional, learned that healing isn't just clinical—it's cultural.
They realized what they experienced was rare by design, not by accident. Most Black students never get that mentor. Mentor Me Black exists to change that—democratizing Black-to-Black Personal and Professional Mentorship Platform so no one has to rely on luck to find theirs.
