Black professionals and community members who want to give back through volunteer mentorship. You don't need to be a CEO or have decades of experience—just a genuine desire to help others navigate life, relationships, education, career, and more.
It's flexible! Most mentor-mentee pairs meet 1-2 times per month for 30-60 minutes. You set your own availability and capacity (1-6 mentees). Quality matters more than quantity.
Our algorithm matches mentees with mentors based on location (local/regional/nationwide), expertise areas, industry, communication preferences, and availability. Mentees can also browse mentor profiles and request matches directly.
Absolutely! We encourage dual roles. You might be an experienced professional who can mentor college students while also seeking guidance from a senior executive. It's about continuous learning and reciprocity.
No problem! You can politely end a mentorship relationship at any time and request a new match. Finding the right connection sometimes takes a few tries—that's completely normal.
Up to 3 active mentors at once. Different mentors can help with different areas (career, relationships, mental health, education, etc.).
You choose your capacity when you sign up (1-6 mentees). You can adjust this anytime based on your availability.
Browse mentor profiles, request matches, send messages, schedule sessions, give/receive feedback, track your mentorship journey, and connect with a supportive community.
Yes! All messages are private between you and your match. We never read your conversations unless required by law (safety concerns, abuse reports).
Yes! Our built-in scheduling tool lets you propose session times, confirm meetings, and track upcoming sessions. No need for external calendar tools (though you can sync if you prefer).
After each session, mentees can rate their experience (1-5 stars) and provide optional feedback. This helps mentors improve and helps us maintain quality. Feedback is private unless you choose to share it publicly as a testimonial.
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption, secure databases, and strict access controls. We never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Your match can see: name, bio, location (state/city), expertise areas, interests, and profile photo (if uploaded). Your email, phone, and messages remain private.
Absolutely. Contact support@mentormeblack.com immediately if you experience harassment, discrimination, or any concerning behavior. We take safety seriously and will investigate all reports.
Yes, anytime. Go to Settings → Delete Account. Your data will be permanently removed within 30 days (some data may be retained for legal compliance).
Anything! Career development, navigating predominantly white spaces, work-life balance, relationships, mental health, education decisions, entrepreneurship, or just life in general. This isn't limited to resume coaching—it's holistic life advancement.
Come with 2-3 topics or questions you want to discuss. Be open, honest, and ready to listen. Mentees: think about your goals. Mentors: review your mentee's profile beforehand.
Life happens! Just message your match as soon as possible to reschedule. We recommend giving at least 24 hours notice when you can.
There's no set timeline. Some last a few months, others years. It depends on goals, fit, and what both people need. Regular check-ins help ensure it stays valuable for both sides.

Yes! Our platform is fully responsive and works on phones, tablets, and desktops. We don't have a dedicated mobile app yet, but the website works great on mobile browsers.
